A few weeks ago, we presented the first part of our Colour Inspiration Guide, highlighting some of the greatest forays into the world of hair colour. Be it in a movie, one the catwalk or on the top of a celebrity, there is inspiration everywhere. So without further ado let’s continue with our journey through the finest colour inspirations from past and present – and let me tell you, in this segment we have some corkers!!
Kate Bosworth Dip Dye

In August of 2011, gorgeous actress Kate Bosworth unveiled her new dip dyed hair. Dip dying the hair is one of the hottest hair trends for the winter season, and involves just dying the ends of the hair with a contrasting colour. While pink seems to be the colour of choice for dip dying, Kate chose a more unconventional ice blue, which really pops against her natural light-blonde locks. If you want to dip dye your hair its really simple to do at home and we have even created a little guide for you, just follow the link.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Super cute and super talented, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, really shone as the quirky serial dater, Ramona Flowers in cult movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Character Ramona changes her hair colour almost as much as she changes her boyfriends (title character Scott Pilgrim must defeat her 7 evil exes to get his girl), with each colour as bright as the last. It’s easy to find colour inspiration with Ramona, and I must say the lopsided wavy bob works with the vibrant shades. The bright purple shade is my favourite of Ramona’s looks, but which is yours – whatever it is you’re bound to find a matching shade here on Hairbomb.
Jessie J Rainbow Streaks

Uber-hot Musician Jessie J has always rocked the stage with her fierce music, with a strong and sexy style to match. She stepped it up a notch when she performed at the Hammersmith Apollo in London in November 2011. Her signature blunt and heavy fringe remained, but the length was longer with rainbow streaks. The look suits the singer’s big attitude and personality – if you want to copy the look at home, we have more than a rainbow of shades to chose from here at Hairbomb. However, if you aren’t feeling that brave you can experiment with a coloured clip-in hair extensions and mix around to colours to match a particular party outfit or mood.
Jamie Winstone’s Snow Queen Crop

Most of the attention Jamie Winstone received attending Elton John’s Grey Goose Winter Ball in October 2011, was for her very see through dress. However, not nearly enough attention was placed on the great things happening above the neck. Her super chic ice blonde crop teamed with a deep berry lipstick gave the lovely Jamie a gorgeous Snow Queen look that wouldn’t be out of place in Narnia. This look can be easily taken to the next level by choosing a silvery shade of hair dye, creating something otherworldly.
Cyndi Lauper in the 1980’s

Throughout the 1980’s, musical icon Cyndi Lauper was never afraid to experiment when it came to fashion and style. Known for her outlandish choice of hairstyles and colours, the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Singer, went through an entire rainbow during the decade that is the 1980’s. My favourite however, is the orange and sunshine yellow look – the flaming colours really stand out against her pale skin. A simple Google search will bring up hundreds of images of Cyndi’s changing hair – there is bound to be one that provides some inspiration.
And remember anytime you need a bit of inspiration for colour, keep coming back to our guides and you’re bound to find something you want to try.
