George Lamb

On Tuesday, I told you all (all 2 of you) about professional kiss-a**e and Lib Dem leader, Nick Clegg and his rubbish and all to obvious attempt to hide his greying hair, by dyeing it a Pixie Geldof orange. Mr. Clegg obviously doesn’t follow the trends, because if he did, he would know that silver and grey hair is in. Just look at the gorgeous George Lamb, or super sexy Helen Mirren…even Lady Gaga has dyed her locks (now falling out because of aggravated hair assault) grey.

It is now officially fashionable to go grey prematurely, so if you want to hurry the process along a little bit, why not dye your hair a gorgeous silver colour, for a fabulous Snow Queen (or King) look that will send chills down all you pass on even the hottest summers day (how cheesy was that?). It only takes one look at Helen Mirren (go on take another look) to realise that silver/grey hair can be extremely sophisticated and it can also be edgy given the right colour and cut. So take the leap and go grey and if you’re already going grey boost your natural silver tones to avoid the yellow tinge that grey hair can often have.

If your hair is currently blonde or a light brown it will be relatively simple to dye you hair silver. However if the hair is a darker brown, you should ideally use a lightening kit that is specific for use before semi-permanent dyes, which will condition and protect the hair while it lightens. Here at hair bomb we have fantastic lightening kits from Directions that are perfect for use before plumping for any of our wonderful silver dyes, which include:

Rusk- Silent Neutral at £6.50

Directions- Silver or White Toner, both at £3.99

Manic Panic- Virgin Snow from £8.95

Wella- Fresh Silver at £9.95 (perfect to get rid of any yellow tones in silver hair)

Fudge- Whiter Shade of Pale at £8.95
