I have always been a big fan of the Minogue sisters, not so much for their pop careers, but because they are successful, stylish and inspirational women, especially Kylie for her highly publicised (and thankfully successful) battle with breast cancer. And now Dannii and Kylie have given me more fuel for my girl crush with gorgeous new hairstyles for winter.
We will start with the younger sister Dannii, as her look is definitely my favourite out of the two. Her new style was unveiled a few weeks ago in London at the launch of her book on fashion Dannii My Style, with Dannii going a little retro with her gorgeous pixie crop styled into a retro voluminous quiff.
Channelling James Dean and Elvis, Dannii’s ‘do’ perfectly accentuates her beautiful bone structure and the ebony shade she has chosen brings out the blue of her eyes perfectly. At the book signing, she worked a fabulous floor length one-shoulder gown in midnight hue that matched her hair. She showed she still had the ‘X-Factor’ by topping off her look with pretty gold earrings and heaps of smudged kohl eyeliner. All of us here at Hairbomb are sure that Dannii’s book on style tips is going to be a huge success.
And so we move onto the older Minogue sister, Kylie, who could have been taking a leaf from her little sister’s book. Just a short time after Dannii unveiled her new look, changing her usual honey blonde locks to a deep auburn/brunette shade. Yes Kylie looks great as a blonde bombshell, but I couldn’t think of a better shade for lovely pop princess for Autumn.
The inspirational Kylie, first revealed her new look on the 5th of October when she received her honorary degree at Anglia Ruskin University in Essex. She deservedly received the degree for her efforts as a high-profile campaigner for breast cancer awareness. The darker shade perfectly suited Kylie’s peaches and cream complexion and I’m sure it will be a look that will be copied aplenty throughout the winter months.
