Doll head

So news emerged this week that Wayne Rooney has underwent a hair transplant procedure…it is almost too easy to engage in some light ribbing on this subject, but you know me, I’m going to do it anyway. Wayne wasn’t exposed through the media this time, like that incident with a certain grandmother (if you don’t know what I’m talking about it don’t look it up, because it is something you can never un-know), he let the cat out of the bag himself via twitter.

Intellectual Wayne’s account on twitter, which included several misspelled tweets and the picture below of his doll-hair head, comes just weeks after his team mate Ryan Giggs, was  revealed on the social networking site as a player that just couldn’t stop scoring.

Wayne Hair transplant

Wayne underwent an eight-hour procedure hair transplant procedure, which is called follicular unit extraction which is estimated to cost £12,000. Hairs are removed from the back of the head and inserted into tiny incisions on the scalp, one by one – like planting seeds, but with blood and gore. Team-mate Rio Ferdinand told him: “You’ll be doing Head & Shoulders adverts soon!” Really Rio Head and Shoulders adverts? As far as I’m aware they aren’t handing out face, personality and charisma transplants out just yet!

Stay tuned for later in the week when I was be letting you into the secrets of making your thin hair look thicker.

Also I would just like to offer the support of all of us here at Hairbomb to one of our heroes, the gorgeous Gail Porter, who has been having a hard time recently. She has dealt with everything life has thrown at her, including the loss of her hair to alopecia, with such dignity and grace that she is a true inspiration. Maybe we should all take a lesson for Gail and put less emphasis on our looks, and be happy with what we have. And after all, although it sounds cliché, it really is what’s on the inside that counts.

This is your friendly neighbourhood hair guru signing off...until next time citizens
