A while ago, I told you about a new hair craze that was sweeping through Hollywood cumulating in a whole host of celebrities sporting the look at the 2011 Oscars in March. Yes boys and girls, it’s the sixties-style hair trend that I just love. But, what I love more is someone who is marching to the beat of their own drum, someone who doesn’t follow trends; instead following their own personal style and even perhaps influencing a style revival of their own.
Enter the wonderful Stacie Stewart and her fabulous beehive (not the insect type of beehive, but the hairstyle kind of beehive). The 2010 Masterchef finalist, regular featuring chef on This Morning and owner of the aptly named Beehive bakery, has been rocking the sixties styling long before it adorned the heads of many an A-list lovelies (apart from Sharon Stone…check back to an earlier blog to see that train wreck).
Stacie Stewart is a lot braver than her A-list counterparts, going for a full beehive look, also matching her clothing and make-up to the sixties period to create and authentic look, that doesn’t scream ‘cheesy hen night costume over here’. The beehive, when done right like Stacie’s, is sleek, stylish, super classy and an architectural feat greater than the Gherkin building in London.
If I had hair as long and beautiful as Stacie’s I would be sporting the eye-catching and gasp-inducing beehive everyday. It really is a thing of beauty (I’ve seen it in person while scoffing some of her lovely cakes). So if you want to emulate the gorgeous Stacie (and why wouldn’t you?) stay tuned for Thursday as I will be letting you into the secrets of the hive (not after an undercover stay with the buzzing insects, I mean the hive of hair).
This is your friendly neighbourhood hair guru signing off...until next time citizens
