So we have reached the final instalment of the big hair trend for Summer 2012 – after Part 3 all you lovelies can get practicing your hot new looks for the next 6 months so you have them down to perfection, ready to debut at the first glimpse of spring sunshine. You definitely do not want to waste these looks on the rainy, frosty days of winter.

So our final look is one of my favourite hair looks ever, as it is not just super stylish but also super versatile – this look will work everywhere, from sunbathing on the beach to cocktails and dancing until dawn. It’s the ‘Slicked Back’ hairstyle. The slicked back look was all over the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalks and is sure to be one of the hottest hair trends of next summer due to how easy it is to create and maintain.

The look was best represented on the catwalk of Victoria Beckham – modern and streamlined; the simple hair perfectly complemented the natural make-up and gorgeous collection. The hair was pulled back from the forehead and temples and worn smooth to the models’ heads. The hair was then set with a lacquer-look serum by hairdresser Guido Palau and his team…easy huh? Similar styles were seen on the catwalks of Roland Mouret and BCBG Maz Azria.

For those who choose to be a bit more adventurous with their hair, there is a little variation on the slicked back trend that is just perfect – The V-Front parting. At David Koma, the GHD team created the V parting at the front of the head, slicking down the sides and pulling the rest into a semi-pony. The gorgeous look was given an extra dimension at Yohji Yamamoto, with sweet ‘rabbit-ear’ updo’s.

So that’s it, the final in the three top trends for summer 2012. We would love to know which one is your favourite and if you create any of the looks at home, please send us your pictures. You might even get you own feature right here on the Hairbomb Blog.
