Knowing your skin tone can take a lot of the trial and error out of choosing your hair colour...particularly if you change your mind as often as we do here at Hairbomb HQ.

A quick way to figure whether you are warm or cool of skin colour: get thee to a window and examine the veins on the inside of your arm. They will most likely be either blue or green coloured. Or a combo of the two.

Blue coloured veins = Cool Skin Tones

People with a cool skin tone suit cool shades of red, platinum and silvery blondes, and on the more funky end of the scale, blues, and blue based purples. Try to stay away from anything too dark if your skin is fair, it can really wash you out.

Green coloured veins = Warmer Skin Tones

Those of the warmer hued variety tend to tan easily. Warmer shades of blonde suit, as do more orange based reds. Avoid cooler colours, like forest greens or silvery lilacs if you are of olive distinction.

Reds tend to suit everyone (from Rhianna to Jane Goldman) , particularly if you choose the relevant shade to compliment your skin tone.
